CHALK joins permanent Fringe archive

Every year, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival features more than 3,600 shows attended by more than 2 million audience members is less than 30 days. And every year, The National Library of Scotland films a small but diverse group of shows representing a sample of the theater, comedy, children’s shows, dance, and music to preserve for future generations as a record of the Fringe Festival – now the largest concentration of performance art in world history.

The sample is very small, only about 1% of the shows in a given year are selected for this honor (about 36 shows of 3,600). And this year, CHALK has been selected.

After a moratorium period of two decades, every production in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival Archive becomes available to the public in perpetuity. We are so honored that CHALK will be immortalized as a part of Fringe history. In the meantime, come see the show live! Find out more about the show, check showtimes and purchase tickets here.
